Come and greet our new students welcome!
On Saturday the 28th of January it is time for one of the biggest parties of Medicinska föreningen - the Amphioxgasque!
The Entertainment committee aranges the dinner for all old students where we will welcome and celebrate our newly arrived students! (the Reception committee aranges the dinner for all new students - which you shall have been informed about). After the dinner the older student´s and the new student´s parties are put toghether for an amazing party! We want you all to come to our house in Solna! You will get a drink when you arrive, a three course dinner, amazing beverages, first class entertainment, prizes will be handed out, and of course - as always, there will be a lot of love!

Welcome-drinks from 5 p.m., the dinner is at 6 p.m.
Price: 250 SEK for MF-members, 350 SEK for others (50 SEK less for non-alcohol)
Dress code: Dark suit

Amphioxdagen

Nu är det dags igen!!

Ny termin, nya ettor, ny Amphiox!
 Den 28/1 är den stora Amphioxdagen med lekar, skoj och fin middag! 
Mottagningsutskottet sköter alla förberedelser, men vi behöver Din 
hjälp med att jobba både under dagen och kvällen. Det är ett lättsamt 
och kul arbete som brukar vara allmänt uppskattat!

Dagen:
Vi samlas i MF-puben, KI Solna, kl. 08.30 och lagar gemensamt frukost och ni får er 
station presenterad. Sedan åker ni ut till er respektive station och 
ordnar eventuella förberedelser. Vi försöker ordna så stationerna ligger inomhus i möjligaste mån. 
Efter lunch ska lagen vara tillbaka i Skrivsalen, KI Solna, vilket ni 
också bör vara. Där kommer en avslutande tävling att hållas och en 
vinnare koras. Vi planerar att dagen slutar kl. 15.00.

Servering: 
Samling i Skrivsalen, KI Solna, kl. 16.00. Arbetet består av 
förberedelser inför middagen, servering och snabb städning av vår 
lokal. Vi brukar vara färdiga vid kl. 23. Alla som är med och jobbar 
under kvällen kommer att bli bjudna på mat och dryck.

The Medicinska föreningen office keeps extra open!

Now that the new semester is starting the office at Medicinska föreningen will keep extra open to make it easier for you to come by with any questions you might have. During week 3 and 4 we will be open Monday - Friday 10.00 a.m. to 3 p.m. If the door is locked - just ring the doorbell on the right side of the door. At the office you will be able to get a temporary SL certificate when you have paid the membership fee. We prefer that you pay the membership fee online, via the Membership portal at medicinskaforeningen.se or your internet bank, but if that is not possible for you, you can pay the fee at our office. Membership and the Mecenat card

The semester start, spring 2012 is getting close. If you are already a student at KI you might just be finishing your last exams for the autumn. If you are about to become a student you are probably preparing for your new life as a student and thinking of what you should take care of before the semester kicks off. At the beginning of every semester we at Medicinska föreningen allways gets a lot of questions about the student union membership and the Mecenat card. So, we thought we should try to answer some of these questions in advance:

Since the autumn semester of 2010 it is voluntary to be a member of the student union. However, to be able to be a member of the Stockholm student housing association (SSSB) you have to be a member of a student association in Stockholm AND study for at least 75% per semester. Medicinska föreningen orders Mecenat cards to all its members. This card is your student id and gives you access to all the student discounts that Mecenat offers (you can read more about those here). To use the SL discounts you are requiered to study for at least 75% per semester and also be able to show a valid student id (the Mecenat card) at a possible controll.
When you have paid the membership fee and it has been registered it takes about 2-3 weeks before the card is delivered to you, presumed that you have registered your correct post address to KI. Everyone who is already a KI student should receive an e-invioce a few weeks before the semester start. If you are a new KI student, unfortunately it takes a bit longer. This is due to that Medicinska föreningen has no data about the new students until we have received the Ladok files from KI with all the registered new students after the semester start. Usually it takes a couple of weeks after the start of the semester before Medicinska föreningen receives the Ladok files from KI, but once we have them we can start sending out invoices! The membership fee is 195 SEK per semester. Since it is volunary to be a member the invoices has no expiry date, which means that you can become a member at any time during a semester. Note that each invoice is unique with its own OCR number. When you pay the fee it is therefore important that you pay for the current semester and not uses an invoice from a previous semester. Once we have registered your payment we will order a card to you from Mecenat, which will be delivered in a couple of weeks. Mecenat starts producing the cards for the spring of 2012 on the 19th of January! When you have paid the membership fee you can bring the receipt from the payment and get a temporary SL certificate at the Medicinska föreningen office at Nobels väg 10 in Solna. The certificate works as your student id untill you receive your Mecenat card and makes it possible for you to use the SL-discount before the card has been delivered. You can also download your Mecenat card to your smart phone from Mecenat´s website!

If you wish to be a member of SSSB  you have to be a member of a student association in Stockholm and study for at least 75%. In order to keep your membership in SSSB activated it is very important that you:
1: are correctly registered in Ladok, otherwise you will not be considered a valid student and you will become inactivated in the MF database and put on hold in the SSSB queue.
2: have registered the SAME personal id number and email address at Medicinska föreningen as at SSSB. Your membership in SSSB is depending on your membership in Medicinska föreningen and if your personal number or your email address differ, SSSB will not be able to register your membership when they perform their membership updates every night.

We hope this information helped to remove some of the questions you might have had on the new semester!
