To create a corps union
Medicinska Föreningen (MF) has many organisations and groups of different kinds and they’re all called ”corps unions”. These all work with a specific area, e.g. chess, farcing, music or danse, and get an economical support from Medicinska Föreningen apart from being able to use their locals. On top of the yearly support the unions can apply for special project benefits. The unions are also allowed to rent one of MFs locals or MFs summer cottage at Solvik for free once a year.
To be accepted as a corps union the group has to live up to certain demands and send In an application to MFs representative assembly. If the application is approved you have to stick to the responsibilities and demands that come with the job of being an accepted unions in the corps.
Acceptance demands
- At leas 75% of the corps union’s members must be members of MF in Stockholm.
- The unions must be open to all the MF members, but it can – if the activity requires it –ask for certain qualities from the unions members.
- The union must be build on a democratic basis and not be politically bound. There must also be written by-laws and a board. The union has its own economy, accounting and revision.
- At the appliance the union binds to following the regulations in “Instructions for corps unions” and eventually to the regulations that have been specially formulated for this union.
The applications should be sent to MFs representative assembly with a copy of the unions by-laws. If the representative assembly chooses to accept the organisation as a corps union then the newly formed union must from that point on send in the yearly documents to the MF board:
- Annual general meeting protocol
- Contact information to the chosen contact person in the union
- Annual report for the specific year
- Economical report for the specific year with results- and balance calculations
- Audit report for the specific year
If the union changes its by-laws this must immediately be reported to MFs representative assembly so that they can choose if the changes are still compatible with the demands on MF corps unions.
