SL student travelcard

Members of Medicinska Föreningen can buy a SL student travelcard at SL if they can present their Mecenatkort with the SL logo. You can find the latest information about the SL student trevelcard at SL's own website.

If you haven't received your Mecenatkort you can get a SL certificate that, together with a receipt of paid membership fee, entitles you to buy a SL student travelcard. In order to be able to buy the student travelcard, you have to study at least 75 % of full time. To get the SL certificate you have to have a study certificate.

A study certificate can be:

1. An acceptance letter for full time studies.

2. A certificate from your department.

3. A Ladok-transcript that you can print yourself from Ladok on the web (press here) or at Lyktan.

Evidence of paid membership fee can be:

1. Automatically registered in the student union database if you have paid the fee a couple of days before your visit at the student union office.

2. A transcript from your bank with the OCR number and paid sum, if you visit the student union office on the payment day or the day after that.

3. A payment receipt from your bank.

4. A receipt of the payment from the student union office.

Which SL student travelcards are there?

The SL student travelcard is valid for travels 24 hours a day in all of Stockholms län. The autumn travelcards are available for three different periods, for three different prices:

How large is the student discount?

It is 35 % cheaper than buying the ordinary 30 day travelcards.

Who are eligible to buy a SL student travelcard?

The SL student travelcard can be bought by students older than 20 years, with valid student ID, studying at least 75 % of full time.

Where can I buy a SL student travelcard?

The SL student travelcard is sold at every SL Center and at the following commuter train stations: Handen, Flemingsberg norra, Flemingsberg södra, Karlberg och Södertälje central. It is also sold at certain Pressbyrå shops.

How do I buy a SL student travelcard?

In order to buy a SL student travelcard you have to be able to show that you study at least 75 % of full time. A valid student ID (Mecenatkort) and an ordinary ID-card or passport is necessary.

Which student IDs are eliglble to buy a SL student travelcard?

SL only accepts the following student IDs:

CSN-kortet, Mecenatkortet, Membitkortet, Studentkortet, Campuskortet or Studentkortet.

Do you not have a valid students ID?

If you are a newly registered student and have not received your student ID yet, you can get a temporary SL certificate. You can get the SL certificate at the student union office in Solna or Huddinge. The certificate is valid up to 60 days. In order to buy a SL student travelcard you then have to have the SL certificate, an ordinary ID/passport and a evidence of paid membership fee. You must also have these documents with you when travelling with the SL student travelcard.

Can I buy a SL student travelcard with a student ID from last semester?

Yes, you can buy a SL student travelcard even though the student ID expires during the time period of the travelcard. You do, however, always need to have a valid student ID when travelling with the SL student travelcard.

Can I exchange an ordinary SL travelcard to a SL student travelcard?

Yes, if you have already bought a 30 day travelcard, you can exchange this to a SL student travelcard. If you choose to do this, the value of the 30 day travelcard is deducted from the price of the SL student travelcard according to SL's terms of repurchase.
