Welcome to the Graduate Students' Association

The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) (Swedish: Doktorandsektionen)  is a section within Medicinska Föreningen, the Medical Students' Union. GSA organizes 2.500 postgraduate students aiming for a licentiate or doctoral degree at Karolinska Institutet.

The GSA believes that the Karolinska Institutet could become and remain one of the world’s best places for postgraduate education. The prerequisite for this is to provide a well discussed study plan, good financing, satisfactory supervising throughout the project and a friendly and safe working environment for all PhD students.

GSA represents PhD students in all boards and committees of Karolinska Institutet where decisions are made about graduate studies. Our aim is to make the postgraduate education at KI as good as possible, especially with focus on rules and regulations, graduate students rights, financing of the studies, postgraduate courses and career opportunities after dissertation.
