Apply for a scholarship from Medicinska Föreningen!

This year the following scholarships are available:

Stiftelsen Folke Sjöqvists 50-årsfond – 15.000 SEK
For pedagogical development of the study programme in medicine.

Stiftelsen Folke Sjöqvist´s 50-årsfond (The Folke Sjöqvist 50 year anniversary
fund) The Folke Sjöqvist 50 year anniversary fund was founded to honour the former
inspector Folke Sjöqvist on his 50th birthday 1983-05-28.

Purpose: The purpose of the foundation is to encourage studies in pedagogical
development of the study program in medicine, especially within the institution for
medical education (currently known as the Department of Learning, Informatics,
Management and Ethics (LIME)). Grants are preferably issued for projects starting within 6
months of receiving the grant.

Eligibility requirements: Grants can be issued to members of Medicinska Föreningen only
if the total membership time exceeds one year. The applicant must be active within the
field of development of medical education. A written report of how the grant was used
must be sent to the board of the Medicinska Föreningen within one year after receiving the
grant. If no report is received by the board, the grant might be subject to repayment.
Grant amount: Up to 15 000 SEK.

• In the application, the applicant should explain how the grant will be used in
accordance with the requirements and purposes the foundation.
• The application also needs to contain the applicant’s personal information and
contact details. This should not exceed 1-2 A4 pages, text size 12, Times New
Roman.
• Documents proving that the applicant fulfils the requirements for the scholarship
should also be attached.
• The application should also contain a plan for the use of the grant as well as a
timeline for the project.

Applications shall reach the Scholarship committee by October 31 to be considered valid.

MF samstiftelse för studier – 29.000 SEK
(The Medicinska Föreningen combined foundation for studies)
Applicable for members seeking economical support for their studies.

The Medicinska Föreningen combined foundation for studies was founded in 2004 by
combining the following foundations:
Oskar A. Anderssons fond, founded 1898
Oskar och Gerda Medins stipendiefond, founded 1912
Agne Zottermans stipendiefond, founded 1913
Doktor Albin Lundquists stipendiefond, founded 1915
John Bertil Bergholms stipendiefond, founded 1924
Medicinska Föreningens Jubileumsfond, founded 1927

Purpose: The purpose of the foundation is to issue grants to members of the Medicinska
Föreningen in order to promote their studies at KI.

Eligibility requirements: Grants can be issued to students and members of the
Medicinska Föreningen whose total time studying at KI exceeds one year. Furthermore the
student ought to be successful in his/her studies. The applicant’s economic situation will be
taken into account when issuing grants.
Grant amount: Up to 29 000 SEK.

MF samstiftelse för studieresor – 17.500 SEK
(The Medicinska Föreningen combined foundation for educational travel)

All members going abroad to study can apply.

The Medicinska Föreningen combined foundation for educational travel was founded in
2004 from the following foundations:
Anders Hackes minnesfond, founded 1963
Professor Sten Fribergs fond, founded 1977

Purpose: The purpose of the foundation is to issue grants for educational travel, preferably
abroad, to students and members of the Medicinska Föreningen. The purpose of the travel
should be studies within the field of medical science.

Eligibility requirements: Grants can be issued to students and members of the
Medicinska Föreningen whose total time studying at KI exceeds one year. The student
receiving the grant is obliged to present the results of the travel in a written report. The
travel for which the student received the grant must be performed within one year. If no
written report is sent to the Medicinska Föreningen within one year, the grant might be
subject to repayment.
Grant amount: Up to 17 500 SEK.
